Why the first box matters

The research on onboarding is blunt. What a new hire receives in their first week is one of the few parts of the experience you control completely, and it is the part they photograph.

Recommended kits by price point

Every kit below is a set we can order, brand and ship today. Prices are per kit in Canadian dollars at the minimum order quantity, and they come down as the run gets bigger.

Decoration setup is quoted separately because it depends on how many logo positions you want.

What to put in it

What separates a kit people keep

The kits that get posted on LinkedIn have one thing in common: at least one item the person would have bought themselves. A good bottle, a jacket that fits properly, a notebook with decent paper. That item carries the rest of the box.

The other half is presentation. A branded box with a printed insert reads as planned. The same products in a poly mailer read as leftover stock.

That is why the premium tier below is boxed and the entry tier is not, and presentation is what usually pushes a program up a tier.

We hold the stock and ship each kit

Most companies do not want 400 kits stacked in a boardroom. We buy the components in one run so you get the volume price, store them, then pack and ship kits one at a time as people are hired, to the office or straight to a home address.

You send us a name and an address, or we take a feed from your HR team. One invoice covers the products, the decoration, the storage and the freight.

Why a treat outperforms almost anything else in the box

Food is the one category people open the day it arrives. The published numbers on it are the strongest of any promotional category, which is why we put a treat in most kits even when the budget is tight.

Snacks and treats

Lower cost than a full kit and useful on their own, as the sweet piece inside a bigger box, or as the thing waiting on a desk when someone starts. Most of these sit under $33 a head.

Build your own kit

None of these are quite it?

Tell us the items you want in the box, your headcount and your budget per kit. We will source the pieces, mock up the branding and send back a costed kit. Most companies end up with something between two of the tiers above.

How an onboarding kit program runs

Four steps from a budget number to kits arriving on desks.

1
Tell us the budget and headcount
Per kit spend and how many people you onboard in a year. That alone narrows it to one tier.
2
We quote the kit and the branding
Product cost, decoration setup and freight, on one quote. If a swap saves money at your volume we say so.
3
You approve a physical or digital proof
Nothing gets decorated until you have signed off on logo placement and colour.
4
We produce, store and ship on demand
The run gets made once. Kits leave our warehouse as each new hire starts, on your schedule.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a new hire kit cost?

Most Canadian companies land between $40 and $60 per kit, which is the Core tier above. Under $40 gets you a solid desk or drinkware set. Between $60 and $100 you move into boxed presentation with heavier drinkware or tech, and above $100 is usually reserved for director level hires. The right number depends more on how many people you hire a year than on the role.

Are food and treat kits a good idea for onboarding?

They perform better than almost anything else you can put in a box. The ASI 2026 Ad Impressions Study found food gifts score 94% on viewing the advertiser more favourably, the highest of any category, and about 73% of recipients keep or consume them. They also start under $13 a head, so they work as the whole gift on a tight budget or as the sweet piece inside a larger kit.

Do treats survive sitting in your warehouse between hires?

Shelf life is the one real constraint, so we quote food items against your actual hiring pace and restock them separately from the hard goods. For slower hiring we hold the kit components and add the treat at pack time instead of building it in months ahead.

What is the minimum order for a new hire kit?

It varies by kit. The sets on this page start between 24 and 100 units depending on the supplier. If you hire fewer people than that in a year, we usually build one run and warehouse it, then release kits as you need them rather than making you reorder.

Can we mix items instead of buying a set?

Yes, and most of our programs end up custom. Send us the items you want and your budget per kit and we will price it as a build. That is what the build your own kit page is for.

Do the prices on this page include our logo?

No. The per kit price is the product. Decoration setup is quoted separately because it depends on how many items you brand, how many colours and how many logo positions. We put both on one quote so there is no surprise.

Do prices come down at higher quantities?

They do. Every kit here has a price ladder, and the per kit cost drops as the run gets bigger. The price shown is at the minimum quantity, so it is the highest you would pay.

Can you ship kits directly to employees at home?

Yes. We hold the stock and ship individual kits to home addresses across Canada and the United States. You send a name and address, or your HR team sends us a feed.

How long does a first order take?

It depends on the products and the decoration, so we confirm dates on the quote rather than promising a number here. Stock items with a single logo position move faster than a fully custom boxed kit.

Do you handle the boxes and inserts as well?

Yes. Branded boxes, printed welcome cards and inserts are part of most premium kits, and we can add them to a lower tier if you want the presentation without the heavier contents.

What if we want kits for recognition, not just onboarding?

Same program. Plenty of clients run one approved catalogue that covers day one, milestones, years of service and holiday gifting. The employee recognition page covers how that works.
